Operation: Safe passage

Summary:
As part of UEE’s initiative to strengthen security around the Stanton system, we have conducted patrol activities in the area. This patrol had the task of strengthening security and conducting rescue operations if the need arose.

Crew:
Crew was under Bluetech with support and extra resources from SweTrust and SweCon, among others

Equipment:
Carrack Expedition (BT Rescue 9) Pisces C8R Ursa Medivac

Events:
The patrol started from Everus Harbor where we signed on to the crew. The patrol’s first stop was at the Pyro Gateway. There we showed presence and then began the long journey towards Crusader. At this point a SAR alarm came in from the area around Bajini Point so we steered the ship and answered the alarm. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we could neither save the victim nor salvage the body. This meant that we bunkered and then set the cure for Crusader and Yela to show presence and strengthen Advocacy’s resources in the area. When we arrived at the area around Grim Hex there was a more superficial alarm, but this was about an attack around Cellin where Comm Array ST2-28 was attacked by pirates. So, we headed for the area and were first on the scene where we were met by a massive ambush by very well-coordinated pirates in at least ten ships. We notified UEE of this and then had to abort and retreat as the ship was badly damaged and a fire broke out. Once in safety, a damage report was requested where we discovered that we were badly injured but no serious injuries to the crew and then extinguishing work and emergency repairs were carried out so that we could get to a safe port. A port of refuge was sought at Seraphim station where the crew then signed off and repairs of the ship can begin. BT rescue 9 was badly damaged and a C8R and an Ursa Medivac are completely lost in the fire that occurred during the battle.
