What a great race!
On Nov 27, 2954, it was finally time for the Bluetech Rally! There were many of us who had been waiting for the Racing Division to get out of their seats and start planning.
But those who wait for something good don’t wait too long… or whatever…
The competition took place on the Microtech home planet where an interesting course had been set up in the forest around the Rayari Deltana Research Outpost. The course was taken from the Northfield Sprint 2954 which started in February this year with about 20 participants. A course that offers both fast-paced straights and steep climbs and narrow challenges such as THE WALL or THE RIDGE.
The competition started with a RACE MEETING where the rules were explained to our 4 drivers, who all testified to driving respectfully and nicely. 5 laps were to be run and a briefing was held on how the start, lap and finish are recorded.
The start went according to plan in the dark with 10k in the lead followed closely by Funus, then Powel closely followed by Chard. Several overtakings in the first three laps and by the middle of fourth Powel had moved into the lead closely followed by Chard with Funus in third and 10k in last place. Much thanks to a wrong drive in the forest. Before THE WALL, the unthinkable happened. Powel slipped on the straight and Chard caught up. They were almost completely next to each other when Chard sneezed and crashed into Powel. Both lost a wheel each and the cars went into the forest in different directions. Funus now took the lead by 10k in second place. Who did everything to catch up. Powel and Chard left their cars to attempt to continue the race on foot. During the last lap, Funus was able to hold off from 10k and became the big winner in BLUETECH RALLY 2954.
CONGRATULATIONS FUNUS!!
After the race, there was an award ceremony on Bluetech’s newly purchased Phoenix. First prize which was THE Pulse was sponsored by MIRAI. Second and third prizes were not sponsored, so one PICO was awarded each. After the ceremony, an after-party was offered with beer and toast at sunrise.
